Swiss Franc (bank code: CHF) is the currency and legal tender of Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Banknotes francs issued by the central bank of Switzerland (Swiss National Bank).

The Swiss franc is traditionally refers to the currencies of tax havens or offshore areas, with zero inflation and legislatively fixed foreign exchange reserves at a level of at least 40%. However, this binding to gold, introduced in 1920, was abolished by 1 May 2000 in connection with the amendments to the Swiss Constitution. The devaluation of the Swiss franc has been fixed only September 27, 1936 and was caused by the Great Depression, when the franc has depreciated by 30% following the devaluation of the pound sterling, US dollar and French franc.
